DEMOREST, GA (December 11, 2017) – Peach State Federal Credit Union has made a $50,000 donation to Piedmont College benefitting the Dr. Robert H. Wainberg Natural Sciences Research Fund. The endowment will support research for Piedmont College students majoring in natural sciences, including biology, chemistry, and environmental science.

WATKINSVILLE, GA (May 15, 2017) – Peach State FCU celebrated the official opening of their Oconee branch in Watkinsville with a ribbon cutting attended by local officials, credit union board members and local government.

“Members will find that the Oconee branch provides a unique and innovative way to bank,” said Peach State’s Senior Vice President of Branch Operations, Crystal Schmidt. “There are three state-of-the-art ATMs – one drive up and two inside – a coin counting machine, and even a coffee bar.”

AUGUSTA, GA (May 10, 2017) – Peach State Federal Credit Union has awarded four scholarships to Richmond County high school students. Each student received a $2,500 scholarship to assist with their college education costs:

  • The Brian J. Mulherin, Sr. Scholarship was created in honor of the late Mr. Mulherin for his commitment and dedication to the former Richmond Community Federal Credit Union and the citizens of Richmond County. The scholarship was awarded to Rahmel Gordon, a student at A.R. Johnson Health, Science and Engineering Magnet School.
  • The Gracewood Student Scholarship was established to honor the history of service built by the former Richmond Community Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. The scholarship was awarded to Malachi Walden, a student at T.W. Josey High School.

Peach State FCU’s Pomeroy Woods Scholarship Winners, Jasmine Jimenez and Tyrique Dunn

ATHENS, GA (May 10, 2017) – Two Clarke County high school seniors have been awarded the Pomeroy Woods Legacy Student Scholarships from Peach State Federal Credit Union. Tyrique Dunn, of Cedar Shoals High School, and Jasmine Jimenez, of Clarke Central High School will each receive $2,500 to assist with their college education costs.

The Pomeroy Woods Scholarships were created to honor Janet Pomeroy and Pearlie Woods’ commitment and dedication to the credit union and citizens of Clarke County. Each year, Peach State awards these scholarships to two Clarke County high school seniors on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.
